A rare & fine carved wood
Maori door Lintal ( Pare ). Late 19c. size 59 x 19in.Probably Bay of Plenty.

Island Rotorua District. As you can see for some unknown reason the carver
has
started to carve the back of the Lintal, We purchased this item at a local
Auction
some
years ago, The Auctioneer informed us that the Vendor had owned it for
many
years previously, and in the 1970s loaned it to the Museum of Mankind.
